I come from Pune, a culturally rich city in India which is surrounded by rivers, hills, and beautiful nature so I always liked experiencing the culture, festivals, and nature on my own or with a couple of friends. During my summer holidays, I typically used to go for a hike and see the forts which are located on various hills around the city.

Visiting these historic forts which are happened to be located on hills, surrounded by beautiful nature helped me understand and appreciated the history and natural beauty of my region. As I grew up and started traveling to different states within India, I realized that I love learning the history and culture of different places and explore surrounding nature.

After moving to Canada for my further studies in tourism I started getting a clear sense of what traveler type I am. Especially after taking a quiz in Tourism Policy and Planning course to find out my traveler type now I firmly believe that I am a Cultural History Buff. It’s not that I had not known that previously through my instinct or past travel history but now it is proven by a sophisticated academic instrument- an Explorer Quotient Survey.
